- 1 medium head of cabbage, shredded or thinly sliced
- 6 slices of bacon, chopped
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional)
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Prepare the Ingredients:

- Chop the Bacon:
- Cut 6 slices of bacon into small pieces.
- Chop the Onion:
- Finely chop 1 large onion.
- Mince the Garlic:
- Mince 3 cloves of garlic.
2. Cook the Bacon:
- Heat the Pan:
- Place a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat.
- Cook the Bacon:
- Add the chopped bacon to the pan and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove and Drain:
- Use a slotted spoon to remove the bacon from the pan and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain. Leave the bacon fat in the pan.
3. Sauté the Onion and Garlic:
- Add the Onion:
- Add the chopped onion to the pan with the bacon fat. Sauté until the onion is soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
- Add the Garlic:
- Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until fragrant.
4. Cook the Cabbage:
- Add the Cabbage:
- Add the shredded cabbage to the pan. Stir well to coat the cabbage in the bacon fat and mix it with the onions and garlic.
- Season:
- Season with salt, pepper, and 1 teaspoon smoked paprika (if using). Cook, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender and slightly caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.

5. Combine and Serve:
- Add the Bacon Back:
- Stir the cooked bacon back into the pan with the cabbage.
