Cherry Cobbler Recipe

Ingredients:

– **For the filling:**

– 4 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted

– 1 cup granulated sugar

– 1 tablespoon cornstarch

– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

– 1 tablespoon lemon juice

 

– **For the topping:**

– 1 cup all-purpose flour

– 1 cup granulated sugar

– 1 teaspoon baking powder

– 1/2 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 cup milk

– 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

 

 Instructions:

 

1. **Preheat your oven** to 350°F (175°C).

 

2. **Prepare the filling:**

– In a large saucepan, combine the cherries, 1 cup of sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, and lemon juice.

– Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens and bubbles. Remove from heat and set aside.

 

3. **Prepare the topping:**

– In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup of sugar, baking powder, and salt.

– Add the milk and melted butter to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. The batter will be thick.

4. **Assemble the cobbler:**

– Pour the cherry filling into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.

– Drop the batter by spoonfuls over the cherry filling. It doesn’t need to cover the entire filling; it will spread as it bakes.

– Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

 

 

6. **Serve:**
