Air Fryer Potato Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  1. 2 large potatoes, peeled and grated
  2. 1 small onion, finely chopped
  3. 1 egg, beaten
  4. 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  5. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  6. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  7. 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  8. Salt and pepper to taste
  9. Cooking spray or oil for greasing

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Potatoes:

    • Peel the potatoes and grate them using a box grater or a food processor fitted with a grating attachment. Place the grated potatoes in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth and squeeze out any excess moisture.
  2. Mix Ingredients:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the grated potatoes, finely chopped onion, beaten egg, all-purpose flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form Potato Cakes:

    • Take a small handful of the potato mixture and shape it into a flat cake about 1/2 inch thick. Repeat with the remaining mixture, placing the potato cakes on a plate or tray.
  4. Preheat Air Fryer:

    • Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
  5. Grease Air Fryer Basket:

    • Lightly grease the air fryer basket with cooking spray or a small amount of oil to prevent sticking.
  6. Cook Potato Cakes:

    • Place the potato cakes in the preheated air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving some space between each cake to allow for even cooking. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
  7. Air Fry:

    • Cook the potato cakes in the air fryer for 10-12 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time, until they are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
  8. Serve:

    • Once cooked, transfer the potato cakes to a serving plate and serve them hot. You can enjoy them plain or with your favorite dipping sauce, such as sour cream, ketchup, or aioli.
  9. Enjoy:

    • Enjoy your delicious air fryer potato cakes as a tasty snack, side dish, or even as part of a brunch spread!
  10. Storage:

  • Leftover potato cakes can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat them in the air fryer or toaster oven until heated through before serving.

These air fryer potato cakes are crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and packed with flavor, making them a perfect addition to any meal or snack time. Enjoy making and savoring this delightful dish!
